Double Identity (a.k.a Dub I.D.) Double Identity (a.k.a Dub I.D.) is the production alias of Voltage Music co-founder Tomas A. Palermo who has also released music on Bastard Jazz, Ubiquity and Sunburn. He’s issued three singles on Voltage Music and recently remixed “Party Fears Too” by London’s Neotropic.
Deep Alpha Deep Alpha is Los Angeles producer Mike Jett who has also released drum & bass music as Sub Code. Deep Alpha’s “All Think” single came out on Voltage Music in 2004 and features a remix from London’s Kode9.
Douglas Pagan Washington D.C. native and current San Francisco resident Douglas Pagan is a poet, multi-instrumentalist, DJ and bandleader who has fronted numerous live avant-garde jazz and electronic projects. He released the “Kara Walker” EP on Voltage Music in 2005 with a remix by UK producer Domu. Pagan plays keyboards, guitar and bass in addition to electronic programming and production.
Earlyw~rm Toronto, Canada’s mysterious Earlyw~rm is the alter ego of horn player and producer John James, a veteran ska musician turned dub general. Influenced by classic Jamaican producers like King Tubby, Lee “Scratch” Perry and Scientist, Earlyworm’s music invokes those greats as well as contemporary roots acts Twilight Circus and Tiklah. His 2009 “Dub King Killah” digital EP on Voltage Music features remixes by Kush Arora and Roommate from Babylon System.
Jackie’s Army Professor Smith and Shockman collaborate as Jackie’s Army. In 2004 the Army men released “Murther” with remixes by Iris Soundsystem, Jack Dangers and Tino Corp. Jackie’s Army’s producer Shockman also compiled the US dub music compilation Babylon Is Ours on Select Cuts and will relesae a solo EP on Volatge Music in 2011. Voltage Music co-founder Professor Smith has previous releases on Sunburn and XLR8R Tracks.
Professor Smith San Francisco’s Professor Smith is co-founder of Voltage Music and publisher of XLR8R Magazine. Smith has released two EPs on Voltage and has previous releases on Sunburn, Ubiquity and XLR8R Tracks. He is also an accomplished DJ and digital innovator.
Shockman Respected DJ and producer Ron Nachman is one half of Jackie’s Army. Shockman’s first solo track “Oh Mi Natty” was included on Voltage Music’s Dub For The Dancefloor digital compilation. His new first solo EP on Voltage Music is titled “Shock The Sound” and features remixes by Dubmatix, Bakir, Subatomic Sound System and Earlyw~rm.
